About Daisy Chiu

I am a licensed physical therapist with 25+ years of experience working in various settings from acute hospitals, inpatient rehabilitation units, skilled nursing facilities, home care to outpatient clinics.  

In 1995, I completed my pre-physical therapy training at the University of Texas at Austin. Then in 1998, I received my Masters in Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland, Baltimore.

I've always been fascinated with human anatomy and body movements. It was therefore no surprise that I fell in love with Pilates after only taking my first class in 2004.  

In 2015, I completed the Pilates Mat Instructor Training through the Balanced Body Program and in 2017, I became certified as a Health Coach from The American Council of Exercise (ACE) - the only health coach program in the US that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), the same body that accredits certifications for nurse practitioners, registered dietitians and many other health professions. Then in 2019, I completed the Fitness Nutrition Specialist Program by ACE.

CREED Core Fitness is born out of my passion for health, fitness, nutrition and movements.

CREED stands for Change, Resilience, Exploration, Evolvement, Determination

In my clinical practice as a physical therapist, I often emphasize to my patients the importance of preventive care. In today's vicious cycle of quick-fix solutions, attaining a healthy lifestyle and achieving an ideal body weight still remain a challenge to most of us despite advances in technology and medicine.

CREED Core Fitness upholds the belief that everyone has the capacity to change.   

If you explore and listen to what your body needs, with the right coaching and your own determination, the body will evolve into an instrument that functions at optimal levels. This kind of coaching will also provide one with strategies to be mentally and physically resilient.    

As Jospeh Hubertus Pilates once said " Physical fitness is the first prerequisite of happiness.  Our interpretation of physical fitness is the attainment and maintenance of a uniformly developed body with a sound mind fully capable of naturally, easily and satisfactorily performing our many and varied daily tasks with spontaneous zest and pleasure."
